Gaza City, Gaza Strip (CNN) - Doctors in Gaza delivered a baby on Saturday from a Palestinian woman who had been killed alongside her husband and daughter in an Israeli airstrike.

The baby, named Nour, was born through an emergency cesarean section, but died on Thursday, a relative said.

The Wafa news agency, quoting the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS), said that many of those who died were burned alive inside their homes.

The Israeli military said it had targeted Hamas militants in the area, but it was not immediately clear if the family was caught in the crossfire.

The baby's birth and death are a tragic reminder of the human cost of the ongoing conflict in Gaza. According to the United Nations, at least 232 Palestinians, including 65 children, have been killed since the violence escalated on May 10.

In the aftermath of the airstrikes, injured Palestinian mothers are grieving for their babies who were killed.

"I gave birth only to lose him," said one mother, who lost her 1-year-old son in an airstrike.

Another mother, who lost her 2-year-old daughter, said: "I feel like I'm dying inside. I can't believe she's gone."

The Israeli military has said it is doing everything it can to avoid civilian casualties, but the United Nations has called for an independent investigation into the deaths of civilians.

The conflict in Gaza has been ongoing for decades, and there is no easy solution. But the deaths of innocent children are a reminder that the human cost of war is always too high.
